On our site, we are going to rescue a typical dessert of popular gastronomy: rice pudding. There are some varieties of this recipe. We have based ourselves on a traditional recipe from the north of Spain, more specifically, from Asturias.
It is an autumn recipe for the whole family, a Very creamy Asturian rice pudding whose preparation is very simple, and its flavor you will love. In addition, you can teach your children how to prepare it so that the recipe continues to be passed from generation to generation. A nice plan for a typical autumn afternoon.
- 1 liter of milk.
- 4 tablespoons of white rice.
- 8 tablespoons of white sugar.
- 200 ml of liquid cream.
- A lemon.
- Cinnamon stick.
1- We separate the skin from the lemon trying to make it as thin as possible since the white part is bitter.
2- Pour the milk, rice, sugar and cream into a medium saucepan. We remove. Add the lemon peel, a cinnamon stick and heat over medium heat. When the mixture begins to boil, we lower the temperature and leave it to simmer for two hours without forgetting to stir from time to time. We will be noticing that little by little it begins to thicken.
3- After two hours, remove it from the heat and distribute it into individual glass containers. We let them warm and we keep them in the fridge. As a curiosity we tell you that in Asturias, before serving it, white sugar is sprinkled and then burned with a hot iron so that the surface is caramelized and crispy.
4- We can achieve this effect with the help of a small kitchen torch. But remember, there are different ways to serve it. You can also sprinkle cinnamon, or accompany it with condensed milk or dulce de leche.
